Games: Pac-Horror
  • Pac Horror was the first game I every started working on using DJGPP and allegro. But while I was working on it I created Tetris in a week or so just to get a break from PacHorror. PacMan clone was actually the first real game that I started to program (using Turbo Pascal), I managed to do the level editor and sprite editor and some of the game. I might still have the pascal source to that and if you are interested I might email it to you. When I got DJGPP and Allegro I decided to do a really gory pac-man clone, but unfortunatelly at that time my programming skills were not so good and the AI kind of sucks and the game did not meet my expectations, but that was a good practice for me.
  • The game has a build in level editor which can be played in the game. You can choose to build the level from 7 different tile sets and you can combine all of them together in one level. If you have Allegro Grabber utility you can replace the original levels with your own. If you manage to create some nice levels you can send them to me and I can put them on my page for download.
  • I had my friend Rafal Wiszowaty help me with the graphics (he did the great looking title screen, he also did the graphics for Glizda). The music is just some midi files of Metallica songs I found somewhere on internet.
System Requirements: You need a 486 with about 4MB of RAM and a SVGA card capable of displaying 256 colors at resolution 640x480 and a Sound Blaster compatable sound card.
For Developers: You can also get the source code for the game. It was done with Allegro and DJGPP. It also contains a simple (very simple) GUI system that I used for menu systems and for the editor.
